Kit Wohl is a writer and artist whose passion for the culinary arts led her to compile Arnaud’s Restaurant Cookbook after working with the world-famous establishment for twenty-five years. Responsible for public relations and advertising at Arnaud’s, she began her research when owner Archie Casbarian acquired the establishment from the previous proprietor, Germaine Cazenave Wells, the daughter of the founder, Arnaud Cazenave.
Wohl works with chefs, restaurants, and hotels across the country as CEO of her firm, Wohl & Company, based in New Orleans. As creative director of her own agency, Kit has devoted her creative abilities to advertising design and graphics production.
She attended the John McCrady School of Art as a high-school student and became interested in metal arts in the early 1990s. She spent a term at the acclaimed Anderson Ranch in Colorado and at the John Campbell Art Institute in North Carolina. Design commissions range from commercial architectural projects to sculpture and chandeliers; her largest commission was a seven-thousand-pound ceiling sculpture of cast aluminum. Wohl’s work is represented in many private collections from New Orleans to New York, Australia, and Colombia.
When she is not designing for clients, she expresses herself artistically in a variety of textile arts, decorating, metal sculpture, and painting. Kit’s creative energy and artistic talent have created award-winning design and production in various fields. She has been honored by the Louisiana Restaurant Association and numerous industry, civic, and charitable organizations. The New Orleans Times-Picayune calls her sculpture “magic and fabulous.”
Kit Wohl and her husband, Billy, live in New Orleans with a trio of Abyssinian cats.
